Pickup Turf - Important information
When collecting your turf from our farm, it is vital that you have a suitable vehicle or trailer to carry the weight of the load and tie down equipment if necessary. Please see the following calculation of the approximate weight of your order -
Hand loading.
If your vehicle is not suitable to receive a pallet load, your turf will need to be hand loaded. Loading is to be completed by you (the customer). The average weight size of a piece of turf is 26kg.
For example.
12 m2 (turf) multiplied by 26 kg (approx. weight per m2) = 312 kg
(If the turf is wet from rain, the weight will be more).
Please refer to the following links for QLD Government Guidelines regarding transporting loads.

Please note that we reserve the right not to load your order upon collection if you arrive with unsuitable means of transport.
Further explanation.
Using forklifts to load turf into unsuitable transport is dangerous. It poses potential damage to your vehicle and our forklift and in turn to our forklift operator. If the forklift operator deems loading your vehicle unsafe, they will recommend hand loading your turf. Hand loading is the responsibility of the vehicle owner.
Ideally, bring a ute with a tray, with fold down edges.
If you don't want the hassle of pickup, or hand loading you can always organise a delivery with our farm. Just touch base with them prior to pickup.
